Get Involved

There are many ways to learn, lead, and make a difference with the League.

We need your vision, your talents, your determination, your contacts, your sense of humor and your concern for our community.

Do you have an hour or two, or a spare evening? Are you willing to donate a skill, serve on a committee – or even chair one? Then we want to hear from YOU! Opportunities include, but are by no means limited to:

  • Organizing Candidates’ Forums
  • Representing League at naturalization ceremonies
  • Preparing the Voters Guide
  • Observing public meetings as part of our Observer Corps
  • Recruiting and mentoring new members
  • Carpooling to events with other members and guests
  • Participating in studies of critical issues
  • Photographing League events
  • Responding to a League Action Alert by contacting your elected officials to advocate about an issue important to you

Contact the League Office at 937-228-4041 or league@lwvdayton.org to be matched up with a volunteer opportunity that suits your time, skills, and interests.

Support Your League:
Give to the Leadership Circle

The League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area is among the largest and most active Leagues in the state, and that’s because of the support it receives from its members and the community.

In the past year, members of your League volunteered countless hours to educate the community about redistricting, advocate for change, publish the annual Voters Guide, register hundreds of voters, and provide information citizens need to make educated decisions at the polls.

It is crucial that each of us take an active role in our government. Please consider a gift today and help your League continue its work to empower all citizens to participate in the political process.
