Dangerous Dames of Dayton, named for the suffragists who fought for women’s right to vote and deemed
“dangerous to polite society,” celebrates the impact local women have made in our community.
The League is seeking nominations of women who demonstrate the same grit and tenacity of those brave
suffragists. Those nominated must reside and have made a difference in the Greater Montgomery Area,
including Greene, Miami and Warren counties. We welcome nominations of women from all walks of life.
Nominations must be received no later than November 14, 2025, to be considered, and honorees will be
announced December 2025.
Recent recipient included Myla Cardona-Jones, CEO of the Brunner Literacy Center, Barbra Stonerock, Vice
President of Community Engagement for The Dayton Foundation, and Hope Taft, former First Lady of Ohio.
The Dangerous Dames of Dayton celebration will take place on Tuesday March 24, 2026. The keynote
speaker for the program will be Joan Donovan, author of “Meme Wars: The Untold Story of the Online
Battles Upending Democracy in America.”
